EV Solutions is Andes Motor's electric-mobility unit, and its site was on WordPress. The migration to Liferay DXP wasn't a technology change for its own sake: the goal was for it to stop being an island and start sharing the infrastructure, governance and standards of the group's other portals.
Migrating a content site has a tedious part and a judgement part. The tedious one is bringing over the editorial content without losing anything. The judgement one is not reproducing the previous structure as it was: what in WordPress were loose pages with plugins on top was remodelled on the portal's CMS, with structured content and display templates.
The catalogue is twofold, because the business is: electric vehicles on one side, chargers and charging infrastructure on the other. Add to that the services around the sale (electric-mobility advisory, renting and leasing) and a map of charging points, which in this sector is a decision-making tool, not decoration.
The blog was kept inside the same portal, so the editorial content that already ranked in search engines wasn't lost in the move.
