Data controller
This website (giaanc.cl) and its subdomains are operated by Giancarlos Gaona, domiciled in Chile. The data controller is Giancarlos Gaona, who can be reached at [email protected].
Data we collect
This site collects personal data in two situations: when you voluntarily use the form on the contact page, and automatically through third-party services integrated into the site.
Contact form: when you fill in the form on the contact page, we collect the data you provide voluntarily: your name, your email address, the subject and the content of your message. The submission is processed by a service of our own, hosted on the site owner's server: no external form platforms are used. This data is used exclusively to handle your enquiry and, where necessary, to keep up the communication arising from it; it is not used for marketing. The section “Data recipients” lists the technical providers the message necessarily passes through in order to reach its destination.
Besides being sent by email, the message is stored as a backup in a database hosted on the owner's own server, so that it is not lost if the email delivery fails. This backup is kept for the period stated in “Data retention” and then deleted automatically.
When you submit the form, we also automatically record your IP address and your browser's user agent (technical information such as the browser type and version). This data is not collected together with the fields you fill in: it is taken directly from the connection and used solely for security reasons and to prevent abuse of the form (for example, automated submissions or spam).
Google AdSense: uses cookies and similar technologies (web beacons, device identifiers) to show personalised ads based on your browsing history. Google may collect your IP address, browser type, operating system and ad interaction data. You can manage your ad preferences at adssettings.google.com. For more information, see the Google Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare: this site uses Cloudflare as a security proxy and CDN. Cloudflare may log IP addresses, HTTP headers and connection data for security and performance purposes. This data is handled by Cloudflare under its privacy policy.
Usage statistics (GoatCounter): this site uses GoatCounter, a statistics service hosted on the site owner's own server (stats.giaanc.cl), with no cookies and no cross-site tracking. It records, in aggregate, the page visited, the referring page, country, language, screen size and browser type, plus a few interaction events (for example, pressing a contact button). The IP address is used only to tell unique visits apart within a day through a hash that is not stored. No profiles are built and this data is not shared with third parties.
We do not use Google Analytics.
Cookies
This site only uses the third-party cookies required for Google AdSense and Cloudflare to work. We do not use first-party cookies for tracking or analytics; the GoatCounter statistics work without cookies. The only information we store locally (localStorage) is your visual theme preference (light/dark) and your answer to the cookie notice, neither of which constitutes personal data.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Note that this may affect how ads are displayed, but not the functionality of the site.
Legal basis for processing
Processing by third parties (Google AdSense, Cloudflare) is based on your consent, given when you accept the cookie notice on visiting the site. For visitors from the European Union, processing is carried out under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For visitors from Chile, under Law 19.628 on the Protection of Private Life. From 1 December 2026, Chile's Law 21.719 on Personal Data Protection comes into force and will apply to the processing described in this policy from that date.
Processing of the data you provide through the contact form is based on your consent, given expressly when you fill in and send the form.
Data recipients
The data you send through the contact form is not sold, transferred or shared with third parties for commercial, advertising or profiling purposes. The form is processed by a service belonging to the site owner, hosted on their own server, without passing through external form platforms or providers.
The following technical providers are, unavoidably, involved:
- Cloudflare, which acts as a reverse proxy for all the site's traffic: the request carrying the form data passes through its infrastructure before reaching the server, like any other visit to giaanc.cl.
- The email (SMTP) provider through which the server delivers the message, and the provider of the mailbox where the owner receives it.
These providers act only as a technical means to transport and deliver the message, not as recipients of your data.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data collected about you
- Request the correction of inaccurate data
- Request the deletion of your personal data
- Object to the processing of your data
- Request the portability of your data
- Withdraw your consent at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact me at [email protected]. I will respond to your request within 30 days at most.
International data transfers
The third-party services mentioned (Google, Cloudflare) may transfer and process data outside Chile or the European Union, on servers located in the United States or other countries. These transfers take place under the appropriate safeguards established by each provider (standard contractual clauses, privacy certifications).
Anti-spam measures
To prevent misuse of the contact form and automated submissions, we apply technical protection mechanisms, including a limit on the number of submissions allowed from the same IP address within a given period. For that limit, your IP address is processed temporarily and in memory, without being stored. This is independent of the IP address recorded alongside the message, described in “Data we collect” and “Data retention”.
Data retention
Messages sent through the contact form remain in the site owner's email inbox, where they are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to handle your enquiry and the communication arising from it. The backup stored on the server (see “Data we collect”) is kept for a maximum of 12 months from submission, after which it is deleted automatically by a scheduled process on the server itself; you do not need to request it. If you want your data deleted before then, you can ask by writing to [email protected].
Data collected by third parties is retained according to each provider's policies. Google retains ad data according to the user's settings and its own retention policies.
Subdomains
Subdomains of giaanc.cl (such as mifarmaciapp.giaanc.cl) may have additional policies specific to each application. Check the privacy policy of each subdomain for more information.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page. We recommend reviewing it periodically.
