The Central Bank of Chile publishes on its portal the information on which the country's economic decisions are made: monetary policy reports, statistics, meeting minutes and regulations. It's an institutional site with high demands for accessibility, transparency and availability.

The main work was migrating the portal's entire analytics to Google Analytics 4. That's not a tag swap: GA4 replaces the sessions-and-pageviews model with an event model, so you have to decide what counts as an event, with which parameters and at which point of the journey it fires. For a portal whose goal isn't to sell but for people to find a document, that definition is half the job.

The resulting event layer runs over fifteen hundred lines and is injected from the theme template, so it covers the whole site without depending on each page being instrumented separately.

Asynchronous calls were also integrated into the theme itself, for the parts that need to query data without reloading the page, along with fixes to the SIID statistical-indicator module, the subsystem that publishes the economic series.

The portal also integrates a cross-site search on Elasticsearch spanning publications, statistics and regulatory content.
